Where Are You Trying To Get Joy?

Nobody wakes up hoping for depression, anxiety, emptiness, addiction, or despair.
Every person wants joy. Every person wants peace. Every person wants a life that feels full, steady, and alive. The real issue is where we try to get it.
Jesus said in John 15:7-8, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.”
Jesus is showing us what life looks like for the person who remains in union with Him.
There is a choice to make about who we will be connected to. We can attach our lives to Christ, or we can attach our lives to things that promise joy and never deliver it.
Remaining in Jesus is not superficial. It is decision and action. It means we accept His Word and apply it by faith. It means we grow in following Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus would do.
That kind of life produces fruit.
When someone stays connected to Jesus, their desires begin to change. Their prayers begin to change. Their life begins to testify to the goodness of God.
Jesus said this kind of fruit glorifies the Father and proves we are His disciples.
The world has been robbed of what Jesus promised through a bait and switch. People chase union with alcohol, money, misery, people, and false identities, then wonder why joy still feels out of reach.
Jesus gives what people are actually looking for.
He gives answered prayers. He produces genuine change in us. He fills us with a joy that does not need constant escape.
So ask yourself honestly: what have I connected myself to that promised joy and never delivered?
Jesus is calling you back to Himself.
Joy starts where union begins.
