Pastors Rhonda and Micheal Spencer
Micheal
& Rhonda were married in May of 1990 in Horseheads New York.
They have been blessed with three children: Cody, Chad and
Coryn, and a loving relationship
that is an example to the believers. The children are full
of vim and vigor and are growing in the love of their Lord.
Micheal graduated Zion Bible Institute in Barrington RI in
1987. After graduation he leaped into full time youth
ministry for 3 years. While Micheal was in Elmira he met his
gorgeous wife Rhonda and married 9 months later. As they
embarked in their new life together in the ministry, they
were called to Newfield NY to Pastor a failing work. For 5
years they served the Lord Jesus and His people in Newfield,
building the spiritual and physical edifice of the church.
In 1995 Micheal felt the direction to the Evangelistic field
where he traveled full time for 3 years. At this point in
history Christ birthed the vision of His Tabernacle Family
Church. In February 1998 the church began with 5 people and
has grown ever since. Pastor Spencer has completed his
Master's in Theology and is enrolled in the Doctorate
program through Freedom Bible College & Seminary. Micheal
has also received a Doctorate in Christian Education.
Pastor Rhonda Spencer is an amazing woman!! Whoever has the
privilege of being around her will tell you the same details
of her love and compassion for children and people. She is a
gifted preacher and moves in the Gifts of the Spirit not
only with the adults, but is a magnet to the children. We
have a saying at His Tabernacle, "Don't bring your children
if you do not want to come back." Pastor Rhonda ministers
with her teams to the children of the area and impacts them
for life. Take the time and get to know her.
She will leave spiritual deposits that will change
your life for eternity!
In His
Service.
Pastor
Anita Newby
Anita
Newby was born September 30, 1972 in Detroit, Michigan. She is the youngest
of five children born to Rev. James L. Newby III and Kay Frances Newby.
Growing up in the home of a pastor, she was introduced to Jesus at an early
age and quickly developed a love for God and a desire to worship him. The
performing arts have always been a large part of her childhood as she began
taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and dance lessons at the age of 7. She
continued developing her love for the arts by also learning to play the
flute, the clarinet and attending performing arts camp. Throughout her
childhood, she was also heavily involved in music ministry at New Mt. Zion
Baptist Church, where her father was the pastor. Her passion for worship
came to fulfillment when she developed the first praise and worship team at
the church.
After high school, she attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan
where she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. While she
continued to develop her musical and theatrical skills, she increasingly
felt the call of God on her life for ministry. In 1994, she began attending
Great Faith Ministries International in Detroit, Michigan under the
leadership of Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and Dr. Beverly Y. Jackson. There, she
served as a choir directress, assistant minister of music, a praise and
worship leader and psalmist. She received her ministerial license in
February of 2002. She is a preacher and teacher of the Word of God and moves
in the gifts of the Holy Spirit with a strong prophetic anointing. She has
been the guest speaker for Singles Conferences, Music Conferences and
Women’s Conferences throughout the metro Detroit area. At her home church,
she also worked extensively with the youth ministry, taught Catechism
classes as well as other classes and leadership training sessions.
She currently sings with recording artist Ernest J. Lee and the Spirit of
David. Her vocal as well as songwriting abilities have been displayed on a
number of recordings including Encourage Yourself and New Psalms (Ernest J.
Lee and the Spirit of David), All I Can Give and Adore (Wilburt Jones), Only
What You Do (Shelby Brown), and Prosperity in Praise (Great Faith Ministries
International). She has also sung background with a variety of performers
including gospel artist, Jacky Clark-Chisholm and country artist, Lyle
Lovett. Her vocal and acting talents have also been displayed on stage with
TJ Hemphill’s Perilous Times and Angels in the House, Buku Productions’
Little Ghetto Boy: A Tribute to Donny Hathaway and Let Nobody Turn Me Round:
A Martin Luther King Gospel Musical, and most recently, has toured with
Vickie Winans in the gospel stage play, Torn Between Two Loves. In January
of 2006, she relocated to Horseheads, NY and currently serves as the Pastor
of Worship Arts at His Tabernacle Family Church where she oversees the music
and drama ministries.

Pastor
John Ware
Pastor
John Ware Jr. was born June 30, 1983 in Newport News VA.
The youngest of 2 children born to John Sr.
and Sharon Ware, John was saved and developed a
heart for the Lord very early in his youth.
At
the age of 9, John was
prophesied over by Sabina Wurmbrand, wife of Pastor Richard Wurmbrand,
who saw that he would be an awesome man of God.
After briefly turning away from the Lord during
his first two years of high school, John
rededicated his life to God and felt
His call into the ministry.
Having a heart for young people,
he immediately began serving his church as
a youth leader and continued in that capacity for
3 years.
After high school, John attended Masters
Commission Mid-Atlantic in Hagerstown MD, further
developing his passion for ministry and for youth.
After completing three years of Masters
Commission, John graduated with a degree in biblical studies and also found
that his calling in
ministry
was
being a youth pastor. After spending a year
on staff at Masters Commission Mid-Atlantic directing the school assembly
team, John answered the call and is now the
Regional Youth Director
at His Tabernacle Family Church. He
is expecting and looking forward to
seeing the youth of Chemung County not only
come to know God but to
serve Him in every way.
In His Service.
